Because of your generosity, people like me who had hit such a bottom they were almost ready to give up on life entirely and felt so low and disgusted with them selves and ashamed of who they were and what they had done can now hold their heads high and look at their lives and see more than misery and despair. Thank you for helping save my life.

The professional staff members you have chosen to help us cope with our problems are top notch and in my opinion the only people who can really understand what is going through my head right now. I am grateful that there are people like you in this world that know and understand the kind of people that we are. We are really not bad people we have just been dealt some bad hands.

I have spent the last ninety days up here on English Mountain. I am being discharged tomorrow. I would like to thank you for the opportunity at sobriety. Before I found myself here I was living on the streets in Los Angeles, California. I was physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually bankrupt. I had no where to go and was drinking my breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only thing that I knew for sure is, it wouldn’t be long before I checked out.. I have been drinking for more than half of my life starting at the age of 13. I am now 28. I had reached the point that when I stopped drinking I got very physically sick and had to be hospitalized for DT’s more than once. Even though I would be sober coming out of the hospital I didn’t know what it took for me to quit. Without a spiritual foundation I was lost and sobriety was not an option. Since being up here I have found my higher power. I have found a freedom I have never known before. The chains of alcohol have been broken and today I have a choice. I would like to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to all who have made this possible. Just so you know you have saved at least one broken life.

My Experience…

When I first arrived to English Mountain I was lost, confused, tore down and had no control over myself. I felt like I was in a whole different world. When I was first offered help for my addiction I knew I needed to be as far away from California as possible. So I said “sign me up” when I was told English Mountain Recovery was in Tennessee. I stayed the ninety days plus an extra thirty here on the mountain. English Mountain Recovery has taught me so many things. It taught me so much more than just how not to use drugs and alcohol. It taught me how to be honest with myself, open minded, willing, the ability to take care of myself, living life without the use of drugs and alcohol. One of the most important things for me that I learned was to have a connection with a higher power. I choose to have God as my higher power, without him I would be no where in my recovery. I strongly suggest English Mountain Recovery for anybody who wants to get help.

My decision:

My decision to come to English Mountain Recovery was mostly to get away from family pressure. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm reception by staff and clients. Being from California I was not sure what to expect but I found what I needed at this treatment facility. The environment provided me with the opportunity to build a foundation of a solid program of recovery. The staff was great, I am very grateful I came to English Mountain Recovery and would recommend it to anyone with a substance abuse problem.

Self destruction:

I am from Ohio where I was living a life of self destruction. I’m not sure how the mountain found me, but I am sure it was in God’s plan. Since I’ve been here I have learned a great deal about my addiction and myself. I believe English Mountain Recovery has saved my life and help me find God. I am eternally grateful to both the founders and to the wonderful staff at English Mountain.

Grateful:

Your professional staff has been informative and caring during my stay. Because of your kindness and understanding you have made the world a better place. Before I came here I was scared of what I had become. Now I can hold my head high and be proud of what I have become. I know now that I do not have to be ashamed and I can look forward to a future. I cannot express how grateful I am that people like you exist. I do not know where I would be if it were not for English Mountain Recovery.

Skeptical:

I came here from Florida being very skeptical about how I would make it here. I was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful staff and the surroundings on the mountain. The pool, tennis, horses, cats and golf helped me learn how to have fun sober.
